Shipping Policy
ShankMeister’s Shipping Policy is meant to provide the necessary steps for hassle-free shipping of new or used golf items purchased in the ShankMeister marketplace (click here to learn more about ShankMeister). From start to finish, a Seller should proceed with the following steps:
SHIPPING POLICY DURING THE LISTING PROCESS
1. Upon listing your new or used golf item, you will be given the option whether you will ship your listed an item upon that item being purchased. (Please note: if you selected that you would not be willing to ship a purchased item but only willing to sell your used or new golf items in person through the ShankMeister Public Golf Course Locator, please disregard the following steps.)
2. At some point during your listing process, you will be asked whether you will be shipping through ShankMeister’s FedEx services or whether you will seeking an outside shipping resource other than ShankMeister’s FedEx services (e.g. USPS, UPS, the lister’s own FedEx account, etc.).
3. If you choose a shipping service outside of ShankMeister’s FedEx services, you MUST include your shipping costs within the listing price of your used or new golf item.
4. At some point during the listing process, you will be given the estimated flat-rate shipping cost for this item to be shipped anywhere in the U.S.A.
5. At some point during the listing process, you will be asked if you want additional insurance so as to provide a replace cost of the item in the event the item becomes damaged through shipping.
6. At some point during the listing process, you are given the estimated flat-rate shipping costs for your item. You will be asked whether you will agree to pay the estimated shipping costs or whether you request that the Buyer pay the shipping costs.
a. If you elect to pay the shipping costs. ShankMeister recommends that you advertise your item for sale as “SEE IT, PAY IT” where the sale price includes shipping costs (See ShankMeister’s Pay-Out Policy for specifics).
b. If you elect to have the Buyer pay shipping costs, ShankMeister will list the sale price you set for your item AND next to that sale ShankMeister will display the estimated shipping cost that the Buyer will add to the sale price.
7. A Seller CANNOT override the estimated shipping costs if that Seller selects for the Buyer to pay shipping costs. The “estimated shipping cost” number provided by ShankMeister only for the amount that it will cost to have a package shipped under ShankMeister’s FedEx account. It will not include any of the following costs:
a. No taxes.
b. No additional insurance protection (See No. 5).
c. No tariffs and duties for cross border transactions. However, a buyer may be responsible for actual tariffs and duties as required by country laws.
d. No fees related to the Seller’s shipping and handling charges such as gasoline, mileage, time spent at a carrier, time spent packaging the item.
8. At some point during the listing process, you will be given the option to buy a box for the item you are selling and planning on shipping. ShankMeister strongly encourages that all seller’s have the forethought of exactly how they plan on shipping the sold item. ShankMeister has incorporated the convenience of mailing directly to you a box for shipping.
9. At some point during the listing process, ShankMeister will ask of you whether your used or new golf item will qualify as a bulky or unusual-sized package. It is the Seller’s responsibility to notify ShankMeister that this is the case so that additional shipping charges under FedEx’s rate plan can apply. If a Seller fails to notify ShankMeister of additional shipping charges, Seller will be charged the difference between the represented shipping costs and the actual shipping costs. If a Seller notifies ShankMeister of the amount of the additional shipping charges but ShankMeister feels the amount either exceeds or is less that the FedEx rate to ship such a package, ShankMeister reserves the right to revise the shipping rate or refuse the Seller from selling the over-sized item in the ShankMeister marketplace.
SHIPPING POLICY DURING THE PURCHASING PROCESS
10. Once your item is purchased and ShankMeister has secured at authorization from the Buyer’s debit or credit card, you will be sent a Purchase Notification that you must confirm to both the Buyer and ShankMeister that you still have the item for sale and that you will agree to immediately set out to deliver such item.
11. As part of the Purchase Notification, you will be asked to let the Buyer know whether there will be any delay in getting the package shipped (e.g. “It will take me two days to find a box to accommodate the item being shipped.”)
12. Upon your confirmation of the Purchase Notification, you will be agreeing to ship the item within 48 hours unless otherwise indicated by you in the Purchase Notification (See No. 8 above). If not shipped within 48 hours and no indications are indicated in the Purchase Notification, the purchase your used or new golf item is subject to be cancelled by the Buyer.
13. Upon your confirmation of the Purchase Notification, you will be agreeing that only the purchased item will be included in the shipping package and that you have made a good faith attempt to estimate the shipping box and weight.
14. Upon your confirmation of the Purchase Notification, you will be directed to the Shipping Label page. You will be asked whether you want to view and print the shipping label now or later. ShankMeister suggests you be prepared to view and print the shipping label immediately. When you do print the shipping label, pay close attention to the following details:
a. That the recipient’s address is clearly printed.
b. That the shipping barcode is clearly printed.
c. Confirm that the ShankMeister tracking number matches the tracking number on the shipping label.
15. Once you view and print the shipping label, you then set out to securely pack the item for safe shipping. Consider the following precautions when you set out to package your item because if such precautions are not undertaken, Seller may incur fees under the Buyer’s Protection Policy:
a. Have you selected an appropriate size box (See No. 6 above)?
b. Is your selected box in good shape?
c. Is there unnecessary writing or pictures on your box that may cause confusion during the shipping process?
d. Have you packaged the item so it is cushioned and prevented from bouncing around in the package? The use of bubble wrap, peanuts, foam, newspapers can be of help in insuring that an item does not shift in the box.
e. Have you taped the box adequately so as to prevent the item from following out during the shipping process? Tape should be at least two inches wide. Don't use masking tape, cellophane tape, cord, string, or twine. Tape the opening of the box and reinforce all seams.
f. Always remember the you can order free shipping supplies from the U.S. Postal Service.
16. Insure that the packing label is clearly affixed to the box and readable. All printing labels printed through the ShankMeister website include a return address to ShankMeister. A Seller is free to put their own shipping address, but should be aware of ShankMeister’s Privacy Policy.
17. Once the packaged used or new golf item is prepared for shipping, it is the Seller’s responsibility to drop the package off at any FedEx location during business hours if such package does not fit within the self-drop at such FedEx locations.
SHIPPING POLICY WHILE THE PACKAGE IS ENROUTE TO BUYER
18. After 24 hours of shipping the purchased used or new golf item, the Seller should check delivery status of the package on the ShankMeister website under the Seller’s Account Status page. If the tracking number of the shipped package does not indicate it has been activated through FedEx, it is the Seller’s responsibility to contact FedEx for inquiry as to the status and whereabouts of said shipped item.
19. Once a shipped packaged has been delivered to the designated Buyer (the address on the shipping label), the Seller will receive delivery notification through his Account Status page. Within five (5) days of the delivery confirmation, ShankMeister will process the Seller’s payout as described under ShankMeister’s PayOut Policy.
